Tim Ashby comments: "The hypocrisy cited by John Heelan et al is also a major factor in our Cuban policy.  Some of the most virulent anti-Castro exiles have made investments in Cuba via offshore corporations.  I suspect that they want to maintain the embargo as long as possible to keep out other American investors.  The US government is aware of this illegal business (I saw intelligence reports on these investments when I was at the US Commerce Department), but the White House turns a blind eye for political reasons because the perpetrators donate millions to the Republican party and have enough dirt on both George W. and Jeb Bush to fill a hundred Orrick vacuum cleaners!"
